Sculpture next to the Swiss Parliament Building in Bern. Committed by Schweizerische Verkehrszentrale.
The sculpture consists of 45 Stones from places / areas with the name “Switzerland” on all 5 continents. The given perimeter and scale of the sculpture is identical to the Ryoanji Zen Temple in Kyoto, Japan.
Each stone and every stone group represents the continents Africa, Europe, North-America, South-America and Asia. The stones are placed within the golden section of the perimeter. All stones were selected by the artist in cooperation with the respective Swiss Embassies at site and with local people. To every site a Serpentine Stone from the Gotthard Region in the Swiss Alps was given in exchange to the donators of the stones.
